In addition to extended reality, work-based learning has established itself in recent years as a key tool for innovation in vocational education and training (VET), as it enables the creation of interactive experiences that improve workers‘ skills and productivity.
Work-based learning is a key component of VET, combining classroom teaching with practical training in companies, allowing students to acquire skills directly in the workplace. This formula has proven to be highly effective in improving the employability of young people.
Companies and educational institutions work closely together to design programmes that respond to the needs of the labour market. This not only benefits students, who gain real and relevant experience, but also companies, which can train future employees according to their own standards and needs.
In the case of the VIRDUAL project, by combining the innovation of work-based learning with technological advances in the application of extended reality, the possibilities and success of VET and work-based education are greatly optimised.
