About the project

VIRDUAL project is aimed to boost digital innovation in Vocational Education and Training (VET) by skilling teachers and in-company trainers, target users of the project, to use Extended Reality tools and apply simulation techniques to train work-readiness skills of apprentices and participants in work-based learning, target beneficiaries.

VIRDUAL project involves seven entities -VET centres, companies and Public bodies- from Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Germany and Ireland. They work together with the support of an international network of stakeholders, implementing the project activities and developing its innovative results with the aim to:

  • Increase the capacity and readiness of VET centres and companies participating in work-based learning to manage an effective shift towards digital education.
  • Support the purposeful use of Extended Reality (XR) digital technologies in work-based learning for teaching, learning, assessment and engagement, developing digital pedagogy and innovative use of digital education contents in VET.
  • Support VET providers in the adaptation of their training offer to changing skills needs in work-readiness, including the green and digital transitions.
  • Develop new VET products and services in Extended Reality applied to work-based learning to benefit students, companies and governments.
  • Implement new and more relevant teaching and learning approaches in work-based learning by using Extended Reality to train work-readiness skills
